About Istanbul Exporters' Associations
General Secretariat of Istanbul Exporters' Associations (GSIEA) is a semi governmental
institution consisting of seven different sectors. IEA is a professional
organization where both governmental responsibilities and representation of real
sector intersect. In this respect associations of exporters are one of the rare
organization models in the world.
IEA is a non-profit organization with a mission to work for trade development & international trade cooperation.
Generally, exporters associations are very dynamic professional trade organizations
owing to the fact that board of directors in exporters associations are elected out of
their members, namely exporter companies. The existence of elected board of
directors enable the unions be so close to the real trade world and makes them
realize immediately the problems faced by Turkish exporters. The governmental
functions assigned to the associations by law give the unions ability to find rapid
and applicable solutions to these potential problems.
