Vision & Mission
With its 5000 members, General Secretariat of Istanbul Exporters' Associations (GSIEA) plays an active role in directing agricultural
export in line with national interests. GSIEAs vision is to be the leading
organization in agricultural export and to work toward achieving sustainable
increase in agricultural exportation.
Our mission is to be a solution partner for primarily our members and other
exporters in every stage of exportation ranging from helping exporters overcome
their problems to providing knowledge and information needed by exporters.
Since exportation constitutes the basic of existence, we also offer some
services to players of international trade. GSIEA offer information services for
companies willing to establish commercial ties or looking for cooperation
opportunities with Turkish firms. Furthermore, thanks to variety of its members,
GSIEA is able to help potential buyers of agricultural commodities to locate the
most suitable suppliers in Turkey.Duties and Activities
GSIEA fulfills the following basic duties and activities
- As a part of its legal responsibilities under Inward Processing Regime,
which is a part of Export Regime, GSIEA fulfill the duty of closing Inward
Process Allowance Accounts for exporters.
- Participate in international fairs to develop Turkish exportation and
encourage SMEs to participate in international fairs
- To increase Turkish exportation, in cooperation with
Turkish Commercial
Counselors in other countries, bring in buyer missions into Turkey from all
over the world
- To organize trade missions to other countries in cooperation with
Undersecretary for Foreign Trade
- Carry out legal procedure to distribute state support payments to firms
participating in international fairs.
- Carry out legal procedure to distribute non-cash export returns to firms
exporting selected agricultural products
- To organize seminars, panels and workshops to make our member acquire
knowledge about any future trends, such as WTO and EU, affecting the way that
our members do business.
- To register and record exportation in the relevant
agricultural sectors
and to produce statistics based on these records.
- To prepare reports regarding agricultural exportation, to make in-depth
analysis to figure out the future pattern of exportation, to prepare market
reports for selected markets and to carry out similar R&D activities.
